Sessions Are Important

Therapy works best when done weekly. Research is clear that going more than 7 days between sessions decreases progress toward your goals. You are encouraged to meet regularly until we both believe you are demonstrating enough change to move to a less regular frequency (generally, every other week) to insure your changes are working as you need.

Sometimes life happens and you will not be able to attend  session. For example, if you are sick and running a fever you are likely not going to process well, and, if contagious, you risk infecting me and other clients.

Should you need to miss a session, I encourage you to contact me, explain the need to miss the session, and set your next appointment.

Please note, missed sessions without notice not only disrupt your therapy, but, prevent others from getting help. Please honor and respect your sessions and those of others by giving appropriate notice of your need to miss a session.

Therapy is always a collaboration between you and me. I will ask you to share your problems. Together we will explore the realities that contribute to what bothers you and consider alternatives approaches to discover what might help.
